Far Reaches was actually the first gin I truly liked. I'm all the more delighted that we can offer it at fassclub today.
However, the story for me didn't begin with the first sip, but with an encounter. I had the opportunity to meet Andrew, one of the founders, in person. What struck me immediately was his passion. You quickly realize that Far Reaches wasn't conceived at a marketing agency's desk, but born from genuine wanderlust, curiosity, and enthusiasm for the world. I particularly liked his unpretentious manner – a tasting out of a backpack, without much fuss, but with all the more heart and soul.
Far Reaches also convinced me immediately in terms of taste. The fresh citrus note is pleasantly prominent, while the juniper elegantly recedes into the background. Added to this is a subtle hint of grains of paradise, which only makes a brief appearance and gives the gin additional depth.
Ultimately, what convinced me was the story behind the brand. The travels, the encounters, and the botanicals from different parts of the world don't feel contrived. You can sense that Far Reaches was born out of passion, not with the goal of making money as quickly as possible.
